Ultrasonic Cement Analyzing (UCA) System with Processor and One Autoclave Part No. 800.4041 -42-43
FUNCTION: The Ultrasonic Cement Analyzing System monitors cement setting time and compressive strength without breaking or destroying cubes. It will plot the history of a cement sample at any time during a test.

COMPONENT FUNCTIONS: The processor is the brains of the system. It reads the data from the autoclave assembly and then computes and displays the current condition of the cement samples.
Autoclave assemblies are small cement autoclaves with electronics specifically designed to interface to the processor. The autoclave assembly allows pressure control with the sys-tem- supplied pressure controller and temperature control with a programmable controller that provides eight settings of ramp, level, and dwell time.
As many as eight autoclaves can be used with one processor. Additionally, with software provided, the data stored in the processor memory may be obtained via an ILAN by an IBM-compatible personal computer.
Theory of Operation
Operation is based on the correlation between ultrasonic pulse velocity in a cement sample and its compressive strength. (See Halliburton Chemical Research & Development report C40-B001-75).
Calibration and initialization data are entered into the processor. A sample of cement with the desired additives is mixed into the appropriate autoclave. After setting the temperature and pressure, the user begins the test begins by pressing "START" on the processor. The ultrasonic transducer, mounted on top of the chamber, pulses, and the processor measures the elapsed time until a pulse is received by the bottom transducer. The processor then computes the compressive strength of the sample. The current strength is compared with the limits set during initialization for initial set, strength one, and strength two. The time required to reach each level is displayed.
